Our population

RAPHS member practices and partner organisations provide healthcare services to about 72,000 people in the Rotorua region.  This is about 70% of the total population covered by the Lakes District Health Board - which includes both Rotorua and Taupo.

55% of the patients enrolled with our practices are considered "high needs" by the Ministry of Health.  This means they may be at risk for poorer health because of their life circumstances.

We aim to make healthcare available and equal for all people in our population - regardless of their age, gender, or ethnicity - so that all people are supported to be well.
